Privacy Policy

Our Commitment to Privacy

HabitVault is built on a simple principle: your data belongs to you. We don't collect it, we don't analyze it, and we don't sell it. Everything stays on your device unless you explicitly choose to back it up to your own Google Drive account.

Data Storage

All habit data, completion records, notes, timer sessions, and settings are stored locally on your device using SQLite. This data never leaves your device unless you enable Google Drive backup.

  • Habit names, schedules, categories, and configuration
  • Daily completion records and streak history
  • Notes, journal entries, and timer session logs
  • App settings and preferences
  • Achievement and crystal collection progress

Google Drive Backup (Optional)

If you choose to enable Google Drive backup, your data is synced to your own Google Drive account. HabitVault uses the Google Drive API with a restricted scope that only allows access to files created by the app. We cannot read, access, or view any of your backed-up data.

  • Backup is entirely optional and user-initiated
  • Data is stored in your personal Google Drive storage
  • We use the drive.appdata scope — limited to app-created files only
  • You can disconnect or delete your backup at any time

What We Do NOT Collect

HabitVault does not collect, transmit, or process any personal data. Specifically:

  • No analytics or telemetry — we don't track app usage, screen views, or tap events
  • No crash reporting — we don't send crash logs to external services
  • No advertising — no ad networks, no tracking pixels, no ad identifiers
  • No AI processing — your data is never sent to AI services or used for training
  • No account required — you can use the app without creating an account or providing an email
  • No third-party data sharing — your data is never sold, shared, or transferred to any third party

In-App Purchases

Premium subscriptions are handled entirely through Google Play. Payment processing is managed by Google — we do not collect or store any payment information, credit card numbers, or billing details. Subscription management (including cancellation) is done through your Google Play account.

Notifications

HabitVault may send local notifications as habit reminders. These notifications are scheduled entirely on your device and do not involve any external push notification service. You can disable notifications at any time through the app settings or your device settings.

Data Deletion

You can delete all your data at any time through the app's Settings screen using the "Delete All Data" option. This permanently removes all habits, completions, notes, and settings from your device. If you have Google Drive backup enabled, you can also delete your cloud backup from within the app.

Children's Privacy

HabitVault does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13. Since we don't collect personal information from any user, there is no risk of children's data being collected or processed.

Changes to This Policy

If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be communicated through an in-app notification.
